March 2023 brought on the annual show for young audiences, this time a traveling show titled Treasure Island by Steve and Kathy Hotchner. This show relies heavily on participation with the children in the audience, which meant tailoring the scenery to be safe and fun for the kids involved, while also making it portable and easy to assemble on site.

The pirates in this show are rambunctious and high energy, and encourage use of imagination throughout the show. The inherent childlike whimsy of the piece led me to research traditional wooden playground structures and tree-houses alongside 18th century buccaneer ships.
